CNR is the largest public research institution in Italy, founded in 1923. Since 1989, its mission is to carry out research projects, promoting innovation and competitiveness of the national industrial system and providing technologies and solutions to emerging needs in the public and private sectors.
The National Institute of Optics (Istituto Nazionale di Ottica, CNR-INO) is actually merged to CNR. Its contribution to scientific reasearch is due to the wide experience in the broad field Optics. Its main activities include pure and applied research, technology transfer, and training.
The groups involved in Qombs project are:
- Ultracold quantum gases (UQG) group
- Theoretical research group
- Mid-infrared and THz spectroscopy group
- Nonlinear and quantum optics group
